LDC League Rule Changes for 2020

UPDATED RULE CHANGES AND REMINDERS: 6/30/20

  • Mighty Mite coaches are required to wear masks when pitching.
  •  All coaches are required to wear masks if they need to enter the player designated areas.
  • All coaches are required to wear masks or cover their mouth and nose when in huddles or speaking to players and coaches within 6 feet.
  • All players always need to be seated or standing in their designated chairs areas "spots" when not in the field or at bat and in the on-deck circle.
  • LDC will provide soccer cones in the equipment boxes to help designate each player’s area.

In consulting with the BOH, community spread occurs most commonly when two or more people not from the same household are inside 6 feet for more than 10 minutes.  Spectators should not congregate with other spectators who are not in their immediate households and should maintain 6 feet distance at all times.

Coaches and spectators are not permitted to stand in the player designated areas. For example, if a coach needs to help a player with the catcher’s gear, they are required to wear a mask—help the player and remove themselves from the area once the task is complete.

The Governor of Ohio and Department of Health has released the mandatory requirements and recommended best practices for the Responsible RestartOhio initiative.  The document can be found here.  We will adhere to the mandatory requirements and LDC has included additional rules and guidelines for all in-house recreational and travel leagues.
