Player evaluations are scheduled for Sunday, May 2, for the Lyndhurst Dads' Club Mighty Mites, Minors, and Majors. The purpose of the evaluation session is to give us an opportunity to see all the players so we can form competitively balanced teams. The evaluations are not a competition, and everyone will be placed on a team.

These evaluations are for new players in our league, players moving up to the next age group, and returning players who want to move to a different team. Players returning to the same league do not need to attend and will remain on the same team as last year. e.g. a player who was in the Minors last year and is returning to the Minors this year should not attend and will remain on the same team as last year. If you do not want to stay on the same team then please attend the evaluations.

Players who cannot attend will be randomly placed on a team.

NEW THIS YEAR: evaluations for players in the Mighty Mites.

Tryouts will take place outdoors at Korb Field at Brush High School. This is an artificial turf field so field conditions will not be an issue. EVALUATIONS WILL TAKE PLACE UNDERNEATH THE HOME STANDS IN CASE OF RAIN.  The field entrance is located at 4862 Farnhurst Road, in Lyndhurst. There is a parking lot at the field entrance and another larger parking lot about 300 feet to the west. You can also park in the street. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time. Players should wear athletic shoes and bring a baseball glove.

Times:

9:00 - 10:30 am - MIGHTY MITES

10:30 - 12:00 noon - MINORS

12:00 -1:00 pm - MAJORS

Due to COVID-19 we did not hold evaluations last year. If you are unfamiliar with the format: The players will take a turn, one at a time. Each player will field a few ground balls and a few fly balls and throw the ball back. Then the player will run to a base. Lastly, each player will swing a bat off a tee a few times as well. All of the team coaches will be there to observe and evaluate the players.
